Camps and Conferences Board Nominees

(4 to be elected)

Thomas Fritz

St. Andrew’s,

Ft. Thomas

Officer Manager,

Head of Security, Omnicare, Inc.

“Time, talent and treasure is what I have to offer.  Many times each year I work at the Domain to improve the physical side of the camp.  It is time now to become a more integral part and serve on the board.  I love the Domain, and would love to serve.”

Kelly Lavender

Trinity, Covington

Stay-at-home mother

“My two young boys have greatly benefited from their frequent visits to the Cathedral Domain. I, too, have benefited from my Domain experience when I attended a Cursillo there.  What a treasure we in the Diocese have in the Domain.  I feel we need to make preparation for the future of the Domain; get all of the churches within the Diocese involved; help keep the Domain the special ‘mountaintop experience’ we all know and loved.”

Billy Bennett

Emmanuel, Winchester

Youth minister/substitute teacher/ graduate student

“I was first exposed to the Cathedral Domain at a youth retreat in 1994. Since that first mountaintop experience, I have returned to the Domain as often as possible, using vacation prior to retirement from the fire department to counsel Jr. and Sr. Conferences each year.  I would love to be able to give back to the place where I first realized my calling, a place that has helped  me to see God in the face of others.”

Winifred Stine

St. Andrew’s,

Ft. Thomas

Care giver for elderly parents

“As part of the Jr. League of Cincinnati, I served on committees responsible for the long term planning of the League’s community projects.  I believe I can bring this experience to the board, and look forward to continuing the positive outreach that the Domain has been for the entire Diocese.”

The Rev. Lois Howard

Emmanuel, Winchester

Deacon and Minister of Christian Formation

“My interest in camping goes back to my childhood.  I have served as Musician and Spiritual Director at numerous Diocesan camps, New Beginnings and Happenings.  For years, I was Waterfront Director and Lifeguard at camps in Wisconsin, Michigan and New Mexico, all of which were accredited by the American Camping Association.”

Christopher Vogel

St. Andrew’s,

Ft. Thomas

Pendery Insurance and Risk Management

“I am currently a member of the Camps and Conferences Board through the end of my 2003 term. I am also chairing the committee to oversee the building of a new director’s home at the Domain, and have organized numerous work crews to work at the Domain over the last 5 years.”

Shawn Davis

Christ Church, Harlan

Self-employed contractor

“As a life long Episcopalian, I have utilized my experience  heading a contracting business in parish and diocesan leadership roles, particularly in co-chairing the Mission House renovation committee. I am also the father of five children, who values the role of the Domain in our diocese, and would utilize my skills in working on this board.”
