St. George’s Day was a day each spring when communicants from across the Diocese of Lexington came together to relax, picnic and enjoy being with folks from other congregations at the Cathedral Domain, on the Sunday in April nearest to St. George’s Day. The Cathedral at the Domain is named the Cathedral of St. George the Martyr. For many people, this day of fun and celebration has given a first awareness of being part of something larger than their local congregation. The annual gathering of the Diocese of Lexington is scheduled for the weekend of April 23, 2005. The Camp and Conference Board is in the process of planning the weekend to include a youth rally on Friday night, Saturday events and the opportunity for people to stay through Sunday. Look for further information in forthcoming issues of The Advocate. |
