2006 Diocesan Convention

Dear Friends,

The 2006 Diocese of Lexington Convention will be February 23, 24, and 25 at the Radisson Hotel in Covington, Ky. The churches of Northern Kentucky and the Convention Planning Committee look forward to welcoming you and will do everything we can to make your time here pleasant and productive.

Bishop Sauls has said that he will continue the “To Teach, to Love” theme with the environment as the focus.

The Radisson phone number is 859-491-1200. The convention room rate per night will be $95.00 plus tax. The rate is the same for single and double rooms. The registration cut-off date for this rate is Jan. 23. If you would like to stay longer in Northern Kentucky the special rate is available for three days prior to and three days following the convention. The Radisson has undergone a total interior renovation and features the revolving Riverview Restaurant and a lovely pool. We think you will enjoy this beautiful hotel overlooking the Ohio River.

The convention registration form is available in each parish. Please fill out a form for each person from your church who will attend the convention. If you need more forms, please ask the diocesan office for more. Returning these forms right away with the proper payment will greatly assist us in our planning.

More information will be sent to you in January. We can tell you now that the opening Eucharist will be at 7 o’clock Thursday evening at Trinity Church in Covington. It will be followed by a reception at the church hosted by all the Episcopal Churches in Northern Kentucky. The work of the convention and social activities on Friday and Saturday will be at the Radisson.

The convention fee schedule is as follows:

•$100 if registered on or before Jan. 10, 2006.
•$125 if registered on or after Jan. 11, 2006.
•$75 if registered on or before Jan. 10, 2006 (retired from Diocese of Lexington).
•$100 if registered on or after Jan. 11, 2006 (retired from Diocese of Lexington).

Please make checks payable to the Diocese of Lexington and mail to 110th Convention Registration, P.O. Box 610, Lexington, Ky. 40588-0610.

The planning committee is enjoying its work knowing that the result will be an exciting, informative and productive convention. You know how important it is to the diocese that we come together each year to take care of business, to learn together and to enjoy the hospitality offered. We look forward to having you there!

Sincerely,
Gay Smith

Convention Planning Committee Chair
