The Standing Committee of the Diocese of Lexington has called for a Special Convention on Saturday, May 14, 2016 at Emmanuel Episcopal Church, Winchester for the purpose of affirming the Standing Committee’s nominee for a Bishop Provisional for the Diocese.
While those who will be voting in this Special Convention are the same deputies who served at the February 20, 2016 Diocesan Convention, the Holy Eucharist (tentatively scheduled for 9:45 a.m. on May 14) and the Question and Answer session that will follow are open to all who wish to attend. The Most Reverend Michael Bruce Curry, Presiding Bishop of the Episcopal Church, will preside and preach that morning and he and his Canon, The Rev. Canon Michael Buerkel Hunn will facilitate the Q & A session following Holy Eucharist. While the diocese is currently experiencing a challenging time, the Standing Committee is pleased that Presiding Bishop Curry can be with the convention.
We invite you to join in welcoming Presiding Bishop Curry and Canon Hunn to the Diocese of Lexington on May 14!
